Just found some major issues with the mailing at thefreegamesdb.com, caused by our provider, have switched all mailing over to smtp and all should be back to normal now.
GameManager V4 Released!
Well the time has come, V4 is available from the download page, unfortunately due to the amount of time I spent and the little amount of donations I’ve received I’ve had to go commercial to fund my time to improve GameManager.
Also those that had donated before the release of V4 have received a free license key via email so check those inbox’s.
Anyway videos and screenshots will be up soon or you can try it straight away as the trial is fully featured with the only limitation being a maximum of 5 games added to database (no time limit).

I’ve only just been notified of a bug in thefreegamesdb.com code which meant that no games could be added or edited. It has been fixed swiftly and you should once again be able to change games ![]()

PhotonManager aka DatabaseManager Final Update
Yes finally Database Manager is finished, so here are some snaps to show you how it all works. Unfortunately you can’t text it yet as it uses a different database format to V3.
Notable features since last blog update:
-Online Artwork Picker, if the online database has multiple artworks you can choose and download any you like.
-Icons/Menus, Menus finally finished and look nice
-Online Add finished, allows for adding any game using the online database and also has the autosearch feature.
              -Youtube support for games
-Other executable support for each game, can specify other programs to do with a game that will be accessible from gamemanager
              -Database Restore and backup
-Region date support, different country’s have a different format to there date, now you can select your region and it shows the correct format
              -Steam Import wizards

AutoSearch Re-activated
Just a quick note, AutoSearch database has been re-enabled so to turn the feature back on in GameManagerV3 navigate to your GameManagerV3 folder and delete the file called ‘PerminantOFF.txt’.
DatabaseManager Update
Hi folks,
It’s been a while since I last posted and I would like to say I’ve made a lot of progress but I haven’t, well not visually anyway. A lot of changes have been made to the base data that Database Manager saves and reads, although that doesn’t sound important it is going to make adding new features much easier.
The next big update is that Game Explorer import is fully working.

This basically means most users wont need to manually import their games, they will be automatically found and searched online for (Win 7/Vista Only). There is also an offline version of the wizard for people without an internet connection.
Next up is extra executables, you can now add them to each game and they will be able to be run from a menu within GameManager so having to manually launch the games benchmark utility by navigating to the game folder is a thing of the past.

Finally we have a few updates on the Artwork page, each artwork now has a menu that allows you to delete art, browse for art and the icon art also has options for extracting from executable and steam folder.

Anyway that’s it for now.
TheFreeGamesDB.com
Work has continued on our free games database and we have moved to a new domain name, TheFreeGamesDB.com. There is only a few extra features at the moment, namely, game rating and an index page showing random, top rated and new games but the overall progress of it is nearing completion with ever small line of code.
You will also be pleased to know that exam season is over(for me at least) so work on GameManager will soon begin again ![]()
